About Us
Connexions was established in January 1995 as a response to young people experiencing co-existing mental health and problematic drug use issues. It provides intensive outreach support and counselling programs to young people with a dual diagnosis of mental illness and substance misuse.

Our Aims
Connexions seeks to engage young people in a relationship of trust and understanding, providing a professional service of counselling and treatment. Connexions endeavours to bring about change in the health services system by identifying existing gaps and by pointing to a better way of responding to the multiple needs of alienated young people. Jesuit Social Services continues to advocate for an integrated model of service delivery that is compassionate, flexible, skilled and timely.

ConneXions' Services
ConneXions provides intensive outreach and support counselling, suicide prevention, drug and alcohol support, clinical consultancy, and opportunities for social and economic participation through programs such as Gateway that provide pathways to education, training and employment.

Suicide Prevention & Education
The focus of the counselling services at Connexions is on longer term, intensive engagement with young people who are at risk of suicide and/or self-harm, utilising a broad range of therapies within an integrated approach. In addition, the clinical team at Connexions provides training, support and supervision to other workers engaged with this group of young people.

Outreach
Connexions incorporates an outreach service for people experiencing drug and alcohol and/or mental health problems. The outreach service links young people with existing treatment programs and supports them through the treatment phase, as well as providing ongoing support in their reintegration to the community.
