SOLD OUT
Thank you to everyone who bought Christmas cards! We were amazed and very pleased that they sold out so quickly. We will be producing cards again next year, so keep an eye out for when they go on sale in 2012.

The cards include the following passage from Howard Thurman:

When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and the princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flocks,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among brothers and sisters,
To make music in the heart.

About the artwork:

The image "Flight of Life" illustrates a warm and glowing snapshot of the meaning of Christmas. It represents different aspects of life coming together to form hope and love. Christmas is a time for us to unite and be grateful for our own blessings. This dove flies effortlessly and freely through a warm and gentle sky. It reminds us of the importance to freely share and give to those in greater need than ourselves.

The Artful Dodgers Studio has become a large part of my life. I have been involved with the studio for about two years now. I throughly enjoy a diverse and creative space, where I'm able to develop myself as an artist. Initially I started creating collages such as this dove. I found it to be a great medium where I was able to express numerous things on a single canvas. I created this dove by collecting various textured papers and images, and selecting the ones that captured the joy of Christmas. I initially handmade a large collage in the shape of a dove, then used Photoshop to further edit the colours, lighting and background. I have been fortunate enough to explore many new mediums at the Artful Dodgers Studio. I love it here! As a person I have grown and developed significantly. I'm currently working in a job I enjoy and will be studying Natural Health Medicine next year. My future is truly bright, exciting and blossoming into wonderful things!

I hope this dove of peace, will warm your heart and encourage your own Christmas spirit.

Tess.
