Sharing the experienceSupport After Suicide held an end of year BBQ at the Bush Hut on Thursday 8th December for young people involved with their program. The evening was supported by The Outdoor Experience (TOE), who had recently facilitated a four day / three night camp with the group. There was a variety of creative and fun games, loads of food plus an opportunity for the young people to reconnect with each other and share their stories. Support After Suicide and TOE have been working collaboratively over the past four years to offer a range of outdoor adventure camps and activities to young people aged 12 – 16. These specific programs have offered safe spaces and places for young people who are bereaved through suicide to communicate about that experience with each other and to just be around others who understand what they were going through. Programs planned for 2012 include a surfing day in January and a four day / three night camp in March.
